Your Question: How many courses can I take at one time?
Delivered Response: Can I register for more than one course at the same time?
Athabasca University's registration process allows you to register for more than one course at the same time. If you do, all starting dates will be the same unless you request otherwise.
To stagger your starting dates, fill out the "Preferred Start Date" section of the Course Registration form. Specify the month and year you wish to start each course. In some cases, your preferred start date may not be available; if this happens, you will be advised in writing.
In accordance with AU's Maximum Course Load Policy, students may be actively registered in up to six courses at a time.
To ensure that you do not overwork yourself, AU limits your course load to a maximum of six active registrations. If you have a full-time job or are new to distance learning, we suggest you start with one course.
More information on course registration and course loads can be found in Section 6 of the Calendar.
