Questions? Ask AU
Get real-time answers to common questions about AU, including fees, admissions, courses, programs, transcripts, and exams.
Ask in the form of a question, such as “When do your courses start?”
Can I defer my starting date?
Once you have registered in an Athabasca University course, your course contract start date cannot be changed without withdrawing from the course.
If you require a new course contract date later than the start date of your current contract for the course, you must withdraw from the course and re-register in the course at a later date.
More information on course withdrawal can be found in Sections 6.17 and Section 6.18 of the Undergraduate Calendar.
More information about course re-registration can be found in Section 6.19 of the Undergraduate Calendar.
