Since 2002 my graduate courses in the MAIS program have attracted students from across North America. See English 551: Comparative Canadian Literature, and English 591: Cultural Studies. The most interesting courses which I have taught at the undergraduate level are those in Comparative Canadian Literature (English 351 and English 451). See also my courses,

  1. English 373: Film and Literature
  2. English 384: Writing Creative Non-fiction
  3. English 475: Literature and Hypertext
  4. English 551: Comparative Canadian Literature

I have been a Professor of English and Humanities at Athabasca for many years, and have also been Visiting Professor at other universities. In 1984-5 I was Research Fellow in the Ethnic and Immigration Studies Program at the University of Toronto. In 1987-8 I was the M.A. Elia Chair in Italian-Canadian Studies at York University and taught the first course on Italian-Canadian writing offered anywhere. In 1991 I was The Canadian Visiting Fellow at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. On these occasions I was able to do original research in Ethnic Minority Writing and the History of Italian-Canadian writing.
