English Language & Writing Skills
University Certificate in English Language Studies
(offered jointly with the TÉLUQ)
The University Certificate in English Language Studies program teaches students to communicate in oral and written English. Full or part-time studies include English language structure, and the social, cultural, and linguistics of English as it is practised in North America. Three course sectors are available: language, culture, and professional applications.
Learning Outcomes: this program will enable you to apply linguistic and cultural knowledge in various areas, including Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), translation, international business, and other professional fields.
English Language Proficiency Program
English Language Proficiency program is not an undergraduate program; it is comprised of specific courses aimed at preparing students, particularly non-native English speakers, for success in three areas:
- University entrance and success in university studies: Helps a university education become more accessible to students currently faced with a language barrier.
- Employment: Courses help second-language learners acquire language and communication skills necessary for the workforce.
- Social situations: Improved language skills help individuals in a variety of social and communicative settings.
