1.1 Program Information

Athabasca University’s Advanced Graduate Diploma: Advanced Nursing Practice (AGD: ANP) is a post Masters program offered by the Centre for Nursing and Health Studies. The program prepares nurses to assume a broader role in the provision of health services to clients of all ages as community-based nurse practitioners. Students will write a comprehensive exam upon completion of AGD: ANP courses.

AGD: ANP courses are delivered online using asynchronous conferencing. Students should be competent in using a computer with a Windows (minimum) environment, email, the Internet, and computer conferencing. Students are expected to connect to an Internet service provider at their own expense. Students are required to attend a one-week onsite component in NURS 520 at their own expense.
