Athabasca University named one of Alberta's Top 40 Employers

Athabasca University is pleased to announce it has been selected as one of Alberta's top 40 employers for 2009. Results for the annual competition were released on Saturday, October 18th.

This is the second year that AU has been named one of Alberta's top employers.

In releasing its decision, Mediacorp Canada cited AU's ongoing commitment to its employees, including its support of alternate work arrangements, opportunities for telecommuting and industry-leading parental leave benefits for new parents. The competition also noted AU's commitment to the environment, encouraging employees to leave their cars at home while providing transit subsidies and facilities for bicycle commuters.

Alberta's Top Employers , now in its fifth year, is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
